The Story Behind the Studio
SPAN Architects was founded in Indore by Ar. Anand Maroo, Ar. Arpit Khandelwal, and Ar. Pratik Gupta — three architects united by a shared belief that architecture should sculpt space, light, and material into meaningful experiences rooted in context and craft.
Completed the studio's first signature residential projects across central India, refining a design language built on light, void, and material clarity. The practice took shape — a working studio with a defined point of view on how architecture meets the everyday.
Elle Decor India featured The Courtyard House in its national print edition — SPAN's first major editorial recognition, validating a residential practice that placed atmosphere and material above formal gesture.
The Concrete House landed in Elle Decor India's pages while The Yellow Stone House drew Architectural Digest India's editorial lens. Two of India's most discerning design magazines published SPAN's work in the same era — a defining year for the practice.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ar. Anand Maroo, Ar. Pratik Gupta, and Ar. Arpit Khandelwal from SPAN Architects, Indore, for winning the Most Innovative Use of VOX Ceiling category at the VOX Architecture Ideas Competition – FOAID 2024, Mumbai Edition.

SPAN Architects was established on 15th July 2016 at Indore, India with the ideas of three college friends who strongly believed in their respective design concepts and had nurtured the feeling over the past couple of years.
